Unlike Panama City Beach, Gulf Shores, Destin, or Daytona which have banned drinking on the beach, open containers and drinking are legal on the beach on South Padre Island. It is also welcomes college students with open arms. Being BYOB during the day saves huge money on expensive hotel or condo bar drinks. South Padre is now the #1 college destination for spring break in the USA

• You can drive there

Sure, Cancun or the Bahamas are awesome– but they require expensive flights on top of the hotel. Trips to those destinations are $1000 to $2000 per student. Then, you still need a US passport, parking fees at the airport, and the likelihood of the airline having a massive flight delay totally ruining your spring break vacation.  You can drive to Texas. Load up 6 in a large SUV and split the gas.

• The Spring Break Beach Stage at Clayton’s

In and of itself, the beach stage area at Clayton’s is open and FREE admission with our packages from noon to 5 pm daily in March with LIVE DJ sets, contests, concerts and more! During the day, you may BYOB on the beach as well. (no kegs nor glass)

• Blocks of condos and hotel rooms all at one property

If you have a group, it’s likely you will want to all stay at the same property. Our site has massive condo and hotel blocks on South Padre allowing us to handle groups of up to 250 people. Provided you all book together, we guarantee you will all stay at the same property. Note: we do utilize categories not specifically guaranteed properties. All of our accommodations, parties, the beach stage, and party yacht cruise are all 18 to enjoy or enter, 21 to drink.  Many other potential spring break destinations in the US are 21+ to enter bars or clubs, and 25+ to rent a hotel or condo. Not on South Padre Island with our packages

• World class DJs and Concerts

Our night time main event parties on our spring break party package schedule include ONE club or bar you will get FREE cover into that particular night. Past acts have included Afrojack, DJ Skribble, Starkillers, Datsik, Kei$ha, iHeartMemphis, Quintino, Crizzly, Crichy Critch, Waka Flocka Flame, Morgan Page, Clinton Sparks, + many, many more! Again, on our nights, this quality of entertainment is included FREE on our party schedule. While it is impossible to include all concerts, many more do exist. Don’t miss out!

• Geographic Location is super far south

While you may be able to find a cheaper condo or hotel “somewhere” in the US for spring break, we doubt that it is as far south and therefore as warm, as South Padre Island. South Padre is about as far south of Miami, making for weather 5 to 15 degrees warmer than most of Florida or Alabama in March

• Texas is in the US and SAFE

Many parents are rightfully uncomfortable with their young adults traveling to Mexico or the Caribbean. The US State Department has issued legitimate warnings on American’s safety in Mexico, ranging from kidnappings to tainted alcohol causing injuries and deaths. Instead of trying to sell your parents on a spring break trip out of the country which is a hard sell, getting them to agree to you going to Texas is by far an easier task as it is safe. US laws apply, your health insurance and cell phone will work flawlessly.

• Deals on flights are available

While we just told you that one of the best reasons to go to South Padre Island is that you can drive there, flying is clearly an affordable option for many. Some may fly, some may drive

Three regional airports service South Padre Island and here they are to check rates:

Brownsville BRO:        (45 mins away)     American and United
Harlingen HRL:             (1 hour away)       United, Sun Country, and Southwest
Mcallen MFE:              (1.5 hours away)   United, American, Delta, and Allegiant

Contact www.southpadreislandlimos.com to add airport transfers. Airport transfers are $85 roundtrip from Brownsville or Harlingen, and $150 from Mcallen roundtrip.

• South Padre Island is compact and close

Unlike many other spring break locations, you can walk to most activities and venues on South Padre. Only about 8 miles is actually inhabited with buildings. If you choose not to walk, the Island Transit bus system is FREE and picks up in front of all our hotels and condos every 45 minutes or so from 8 am to 8 pm 7 days a week. Coolers are allowed, just not open containers on these City tourist buses. When the buses don’t run, or if you are in a hurry, there are 4 cab companies on the Island that are $3 per person to go anywhere, or $6 if you are alone. Please note, cab/taxi/bus service is very limited the 2^nd week in March due to extreme traffic. Walk
